ACL Named One of Canada’s Top Small & Medium Employers for Fifth Year in a Row

VANCOUVER, BC – APRIL 12, 2019ACL, one of Canada’s most prominent tech companies, has been selected for the fifth year in a row as one of Canada’s Top Small & Medium Employers. The designation, which is managed by The Globe and Mail, is awarded to the small and medium enterprises (SMEs) that offer the nation’s best workplaces and forward-thinking human resources policies.

ACL is a Vancouver-headquartered global leader in governance, risk management, and compliance software, with 7,000 customers in 135 countries. Their recent acquisition of Integrated Risk Management & GRC software platform, Rsam, has allowed the organization to advance their industry consolidation strategy by extending their reach into cyber risk management and security solutions.

“We are incredibly grateful to be awarded this designation for the fifth year in a row,” said CEO Laurie Schultz. “Canada’s SMEs play an enormous role in the nation’s job economy, and we’re proud to be providing a workplace that is recognized as one of the best in this category.”

ACL uses its technology to empower organizations to achieve great things and change the world in the process. This vision extends to ACL’s own team through an employee-first culture that offers in-house training programs and budget for external skill development to support employee growth. Initiatives like ACL’s diversity and inclusion program, as well as paid volunteer days, encourage a sense of community building within the organization.
An open and transparent work environment is encouraged by ACL at all levels through frequent town halls, campus meetings and easily accessible 1:1 time with the CEO, as well as through the space itself, which was designed by employees. Open-concept desks for all levels of staff, 125 individual meeting areas, as well as a sprawling kitchen and lounge/games areas encourage collaboration, creativity and social wellbeing.

“We are constantly striving to create an environment where team members can grow and prosper,” said Kathy Enros, VP of Talent at ACL. “Our employees are truly changing the world through their work. We show appreciation for them through extensive benefits and RRSP matching, skill development programs and a beautiful workspace.”
